• Question: Why does the sun go down?

      Hi Meg – well it doesnt – it stays in much the same place but because the earth rotates the sun points at a different place on the earth at different times. the way the earth rotates means the sun always appears 1st thing from the East and sets last thing in the west. You can see this happening with a torch and a ball – point the torch at the ball and without moving the torch spin the ball around whilst keeping it in the same place
