      It seems that Pythagoras is the 1sy anciant greek phylosipher to suggest a round earth in around 500 BC.
      It was later (much later) proven by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano’s who circumnavigated to earth (1519−1521).[taken from wikipedia]
