Hi nkjones. There are partial solar eclipses every few years in the UK, the next big one will be in 2015 which will cover about 80 % of the sun. But the next total solar eclipse visible in the UK will be in 2090.

Hiya nkjones – I don’t know but I’m not going to be around for the next big UK one in 2090 🙁
So I will have to keep an eye out (safely of course) on 20 March 2015 when I think we might see a partial one from the UK (that’s if I could understand the table of eclipses correctly – don’t quote me on this date I’m more than a little unsure!!)
      🙂

      Hi nkjones!
That depends on where you’ll be! The next full solar eclipse is coming up in November for those of us who’ll be in Australia on November 13th.

Check out its shaddow on the globe here:
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_November_13,_2012

So you don’t have to wait till 2090 if you’re willing to travel. 🙂
