Hi jen123, my most recent discovery was finding that cognitive stimulation (keeping your mind active – eg. doing lots of crosswords, reading books & learning new things) can prevent memory loss as we age. I’m rubbish at crosswords to be honest, but I always try them!

Hey jen. The best discovery I have made is a new reaction to make molecules that have never been made before, using a Ruthenium metal catalyst. I am trying to use these molecules to make new medicines.

Hi jen123! My most recent discovery is that 131 different types of protein are affected when a herpes virus enters immune system cells during an infection! There are obviously lots more proteins probably affected (humans have up to 23,000 different proteins in each cell!), but I’ve measured 131 that change. That was on Friday. Lots of anti-virus battle proteins in this list, which is healthy!

My most resent discovery that I’m currently trying to publish is that a protein called HUNK controls the process of making new cells in the normal intestine but doesnt have a major role in controling the process of making cancer cells in the intestine. Look out for the paper if any journal will accept it.
