• Question: What is the newest most recent disease?

      I’d probably guess Avian influenza but at the same time I’d say that’s hard to say because even the common old cold that’s be around for ever (in terms of human existance) changes all the time which is why you get repeated colds. So there’s always a new version of the cold.

      Hi meg!

      I’d go for the most current flu virus, they’re a new disease each time, which is why you can get the flu lots of times in your life. Every so often there’s also a new virus that people catch from animals – like the avian flu that Karen mentioned, or Ebola from monkeys!

      Also, as people live longer and get older, we’ll discover even more diseases that we were never old enough to get so far…
