Hi Jack. A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun stopping the sunlight from reacing earth, so it goes dark. A lunar eclipse is when the earth comes between the sun and the moon stopping the sunlight from reaching the moon an being reflected back to earth, so that we can’t see it. Hope this helps.

      Hi Jack!

      Here’s a lunar eclipse:

      and here’s a solar eclipse:

So in a solar eclipse, moon is in the middle, in a lunar eclipse, the Earth is in the middle.

Have you seen a lunar or a solar eclipse yourself?

      🙂 Sarah
