Hiya 235689jack – Wow good question. I think its a way of thinking. Its the inquisitive nature of finding out new stuff systematically. Be that about life (more biolgy based science), chemical stuff (the grey area for me of chemistry), the universe and matter and stuff (which is physics), how to build things (engineering) etc. etc. etc.
But its the way of doing things to try and prove how things are.

      Hi Jack!
Well of course science is the coolest subject you can ever study 🙂
Science comes from a Latin word meaning knowledge, and people usually define it as a way of gaining knowledge.

Hi again 235689jack! Science is our best way of finding out what’s real and what isn’t. It’s a way of collecting evidence objectively, and then making up your mind about how the world works based on that. So many things are science! All of medicine – we only use medication that is proven to help conditions – to when you expect it to be day or night time, to how fast your car will go and why your phone won’t work in certain areas. And lots lots more.
Lots of stuff worth finding out about! But not by learning facts off by heart, but by figuring things out for yourself.
      🙂 Sarah
