Hiya, adaptation is the way that an organisms changes or adapts its biology to cope with its environment. So its the process that leads to changes and therefore evoluntion.

Hi 235689jack! “Adaptation” is the way animals stay “fit”. These are both scientific words for saying “ability to change” and “successful survival”. If I world always stayed the same, there would be no need for adaptation, but this isn’t the case. Think about ice ages, floods, volcanic eruptions in the past! Only animals and plants that could adapt quickly to new conditions made it through and became fit for the new world.
