• Question: what happens if you add soduim chloride and magnesuim chloride together

      Hi oh5924! Magnesium chloride and sodium chloride are very simlar compounds. They are both metal salts and have very similar bond energies (the energy it takes to make a bond between the metal and the chlorine). Chemical reactions happen when the energy of the product is lower than the energy of the things you start with. So in this case there would be no reaction. Thanks for your question.

      You’d get a mix of sodium chloride and magnesium chloride! But that’s all I’m afraid…
