Hiya – no I don’t think so but I’ve just found out that a sneeze can alter the rhythm of the beats. The pressure that build up in the when we sneeze (or cough) can momentarily alter the forcefulness with which your heart beats, so your heart rate rhythm will be slightly different after the sneeze to before it.

      Hi 1dlaura!
Our heart beats 60-80 times per minute, so about one time every second. I don’t think you’d notice a delay by one hundredth of a second at this rate! I agree with Karen that the rhythm might change by quite a bit more than a milisecond.
      🙂 Sarah
