      Hi again itsspaigee!

Skin has lots of layers to it and it’s elastic – so it can stretch over lots of different shapes, depending on how it’s needed. But it’s the muscles, organs and fat under the skin that determine where the skin will sit over our bone structure! So in pregnant women, skin will stretch to fit all round the baby in the tummy as well, and then shrink back afterwards. It will also grow with us as our bones grow – it’s a very fine tuned process with lots of biochemical commands during growth for bits to grow and other bits to wait.

      🙂
      Sarah
