      Hi jbc01,

special cells called osteoblasts are constantly moving around inside our bones and patching them up – the more you use and strain your bones, the stronger osteoblasts will make them, one reason why exercise is good for you!
When you break a bone, and it’s re-set in the right place by a doctor and held there by the plaster, osteoblasts will seal the crack again with new bone and mostly it won’t even be noticable again as having been broken!

      🙂 Sarah
