      Hiya,
      around 99% of mouse genes can also be found in the human genome, and about 90% human genes can be found in the mouse genome. What’s more the genes are very often in groups that are in the same order in the two species and are controlled in a similar way. Its all because Humans and mice shared a common ancestor about 75 million years ago. That’s one of the things that makes mice such good models for human diseases
