• Question: Are finger nails made from the same cells as our hair?

      Yes essencilly – they are both made mainly from a protein called keratin – its also what’s in hooves on animals.

      Yes, but the cells that make them are shaped differently and the structures that they build are very different – so that’s why nails don’t look at all like hair!
