      Hi Jack. I have often asked this question myself. As far as I know they are left over from the time when we were a fetus. When we are first concieved we all start out as a girl! (hard to take I know, but hang in there) until our heroic Y chromosome kicks in and makes us man up! But by then nipples are part of the package and we just have to live with it!
