I dropped chemistry when I was 15, as we had to drop one science, and carried on with physics and biology. I wish I’d done more chemistry now, because a lot of chemistry is relevant when doing research in biology, but I definitely prefer biology, although both can be smelly!
At school I preferred chemistry because I loved working out reactions & I was lucky to be good at it, & I didn’t enjoy biology because I found it hard to remember all the different things. But in my job now I look at physiology – which has both biology & chemistry in it, so when you put them together they are definitely much better than on their own.
Hi Katieh, definitely chemistry! I didn’t like biology at school so I haven’t done any since my GCSE’s but the area of chemistry I am working in is closely related to biology so I might have to learn some when I finish my PhD and get a job!
BIOLOGY. I did both at A level and struggled with chemisty but I’ve always loved Biology. That said, there are some bits of biology that I find a bit dull like taxonomy (grouping animals) was tedious
