      Hi josieb123!

      Yes they are! They contain metals, such as aluminum, magnesium, and titanium, that burn very brightly when ignited with oxygen. Colours are added with STRONTIUM!!! salts and lithium for red, calcium for orange, sodium for yellow, barium for green and copper for blue!
